1 ½ Tbs minced shallots
1 ½ Tbs lemon juice
1 small garlic clove minced
salt
pepper
¼ c buttermilk
½ c mayonnaise (hellmans/best mayo preferred)
2 Tbs chopped flat leaf parsley
1 Tbs. chopped chives (optional)
Put shallots, garlic and lemon juice in a bowl. Add salt and let macerate for a few minutes. Whisk in buttermilk and mayo. Add parsley and pepper to taste.
