compound butter

This butter is nothing more than a stick of butter seasoned with aromatics. You can store it in the freezer or slice off a bit as you need it. Great on steak, fish, shrimp, chicken, potatoes, or other veggies. You can also use this as a base and add different chili powders like Aleppo or pimenton d'espelette. 

1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1 TBS minced shallots
1 TBS minced parsley
1/4 TSP black pepper
1/4 TSP fine sea salt
fine zest from1 lemon (use microplane)
1 TSP fresh lemon juice 
1 clove of garlic, made into paste
